This lot comes from the Rwenzori region in western Uganda, where Agri Evolve has been working with more than 20,000 smallholder farmers since 2015. Agri Evolve manages the entire process, from sourcing and processing to coffee export, with a strong focus on quality, transparency, and sustainability. Their goal is to improve conditions for farmers, their families, and local communities while bringing Ugandan coffee to the global market.
Agri Evolve provides farmers with training in Good Agricultural Practices, financial literacy, and climate-smart farming. They also provide access to coffee seedlings, organic fertilisers, and farming equipment, support farmers with certifications, and guarantee transparent access to the market. Processing takes place at the modern Nyabirongo facility, which includes both wet and dry mills, grading and sorting equipment, and an in-house quality laboratory. This lot was processed here using the classic washed method, in which the coffee is depulped, fermented, thoroughly washed and then dried. Careful quality control takes place throughout the process, helping to preserve the coffee’s clean and consistent character.
The combination of farmer education, community support, and responsible environmental practices creates a strong foundation for producing high-quality coffee. This lot is a great example of the potential of the Rwenzori region – a clean and balanced washed coffee that allows the character of the local terroir to shine through without unnecessary processing interventions.
