After a while, we’ve decided to bring a Brazilian coffee back to our lineup - this time as a filter roast. Yes, we know, it’s still a somewhat controversial topic that doesn’t always get full appreciation. But we believe this origin deserves a chance. With precise processing, its specific character can deliver flavors that challenge expectations.
This particular coffee comes from Fazenda Semente, run by the Aguiar family - coffee producers for nine generations. Their story began in the 19th century in the south of Minas Gerais and continued with a move to the Cerrado Mineiro region, where the first coffee trees were planted in 1988. Today, the farm is managed by Virgínia Coutinho Aguiar and her children, combining traditional practices with a modern approach to farming.
Fazenda Semente is located at around 950 meters above sea level near Patrocínio, in one of Brazil’s most renowned regions for specialty coffee. On more than 200 hectares of irrigated land, varieties such as Catuaí, Mundo Novo, Arara, and Bourbon are grown and processed using different methods - from natural to fermented lots. The result is clean, balanced, yet distinctive flavor profiles, just like in this coffee.
The Aguiar family also places strong emphasis on sustainability. The farm holds several international certifications, uses its own organic compost, runs on solar energy, and preserves natural corridors for local flora and fauna. It’s a combination of respect for nature and dedication to quality that you can taste in every cup.
